From the Mayor

Welcome to the Town of Eureka

Welcome to Eureka and thank you for taking an interest in our community.  I’m honored to serve as Mayor of Eureka and proud to call this remarkable community home.  Our town values its history, its neighbors, and its future.

My commitment is to listen, lead with integrity, and work collaboratively to preserve what makes Eureka special while thoughtfully planning for our future.

Eureka is a place where community involvement matters. Our Town Council meetings are open to the public and are held every second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall. I encourage residents to attend, listen, and participate. Your voice plays an important role in shaping the direction of our town.

Currently, the Town is actively working on two important efforts: a Growth Policy and an updated Capital Improvement Plan. These projects are essential to ensuring thoughtful, responsible growth, maintaining critical infrastructure, and planning wisely for the years ahead. Community input is not only welcome, it is necessary.

Meeting agendas and approved minutes are available for public review on our website. at Town Hall, located at 11 Dewey Avenue. Please note that meeting minutes are not approved until the following month, which means that any minutes posted online will generally reflect a one-month delay.

The Town of Eureka also maintains an official Facebook page to share information, announcements, and meeting notices. While we value public engagement, please be aware that the Mayor and Town Council cannot respond to comments made on Facebook, in order to comply with public meetings and open government requirements. We welcome questions, concerns, and feedback through appropriate channels such as Town Hall or during public meetings.

I ran for office on a commitment to transparency, fiscal responsibility, respectful leadership, and planning for a strong future while preserving the character of Eureka. That commitment guides my work every day. Whether you are a lifelong resident or new to our community, you matter here.

Thank you for being part of Eureka. I look forward to working together as we continue building a town, we are proud to call home.

Warm regards,
Sonya Richardson
Mayor, Town of Eureka
